Event Profile
“Florida Skate 2002” is a friendly non-competitive sporting
event that takes a group of inline skating enthusiasts on public roads and
highways along Florida’s east coast from Miami to Jensen Beach.

 Why do we make it happen?
We provide inline skating enthusiasts with the opportunity to
skate long distances on public roads and highways in a safe environment and at
the same time raise money for a good cause (a portion of the proceeds will be
donated to charity).
How do we make it happen?
We obtain all necessary permits to utilize public roads,
highways, parks and other facilities from each individual city and county that
are on route. The “Florida Skate 2002” event is escorted by police units, mobile skate service stations, luggage trucks, and buses for skaters
that might need rest. Along the way, occasional short stops are made to ease the
flow of traffic.
 Who are the participants?
Skaters from the United States and other countries will
participate in this endurance challenge. Their ages range from 18 to 70, with an
intermediate to advanced skill levels. Skaters will join the event by booking
one- or multiple-day packages.
Daily Schedule
Each skating day will begin at 9:00 am and include four
skating segments of approximately 1 to 1 ˝ hours. There will be short breaks for
refreshments after the first and third segment. Lunch will take place after the
second segment. The group will reach the evening destinations between 4 and 6
p.m. Following, nightly entertainment will be provided on selected days.
Accommodations
Accommodations will be provided for all participants in local
hotels.
